BOSTON MUSEUM BUILDS MOMENTUM
WITH NEW ADDITIONS TO BOARD OF DIRECTORS,
NATIONAL ADVISORY COMMITTEE

Linda Whitlock, Nicholas President and CEO of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Boston, and Alyce Lee, former chief of staff for Boston Mayor Thomas Menino, are among the latest to join the Boston Museum’s Board of Directors, CEO Frank Keefe announced today. In addition, Harvard President Drew Faust and best-selling South Boston author (All Souls) Michael Patrick MacDonald have joined the museum’s National Advisory Committee.

“The Boston Museum has entered a new phase of its development with a team of seasoned community leaders who are committed to pushing this project forward,” said Keefe. “We’re at a point now where we’re able to attract extraordinary talent to this enterprise, people with the savvy and experience to help us build on the Greenway and work in partnership with other museums and historic sites to develop programs.”

Other new board members include:

Ronald Lee Fleming, founder of the Townscape Institute, a public interest planning and conservation organization. Fleming, a resident of Cambridge and Newport, Rhode Island, also founded the Cambridge Arts Council and served as first chairman of Cambridge’s One Per Cent for Public Art Committee. He currently serves on the boards of Scenic America in Washington D.C., the Preservation Society for Newport County, and the Royal Oak Foundation.

Tunney Lee, Professor Emeritus and Senior Lecturer in the Department of Urban Studies and Planning at MIT. A native of Chinatown, Lee is the former Chief of Planning and Design at the Boston Redevelopment Authority and former Deputy Commissioner for the Massachusetts Division of Capital Planning and Operations.

Bruce Percelay, the founder and owner of the Mount Vernon Company, a Boston-based real estate firm. Percelay, a highly successful Democratic Party fundraiser, has held leadership positions on the boards of Habitat for Humanity and the Make-a-Wish Foundation. He helped lead the expansion of the Nantucket Whaling Museum.

David Wimberly led the board of the Huntington Theater for twelve years. He is the founder and chairman emeritus of Frontier Capital Management, a Boston-based investment management firm.
